At the First Years Academy, we ensure that our students achieve the highest standards of successful learning whether it be in academics, fine arts or our athletic programs. We at First Years Academy are singularly focused on one thing- your child. They bring their passions into the classroom and develop deep, caring relationships that inspire a true love of learning. Our teachers pay close attention to the social, emotional and academic needs of each individual, adapting the curriculum and lessons that fuel the fire more than fill the bucket.
Our Programs
Preschool
Our Preschool provides a safe and secure introduction to school life. The children (aged 2 to 6 years) quickly feel welcome and happy. Our curriculum takes them through four dedicated rooms: Pre-Nursery, Nursery, Pre-Reception, and Reception.
Primary
Our Primary (Years 1 to 6) starts learners on an exciting educational journey through the Cambridge Pathway. Typically for 5 to 12 year olds, it provides a strong foundation for students at the beginning of their schooling.
Lower Secondary
The Lower Secondary (Years 7 to 9) is typically for learners aged 11 to 15 years. It helps students prepare for the next step of their education, providing a clear path as they progress through the Cambridge Pathway in an age-appropriate way.
Cambridge International Curriculum
The Cambridge International Curriculum sets a global standard for education, and is recognized by universities and employers worldwide. The curriculum is flexible, challenging and inspiring, culturally sensitive yet international in approach. Cambridge students develop an informed curiosity and a lasting passion for learning. They also gain the essential skills they need for success at university and in their future careers.
The Cambridge Pathway
The Cambridge Pathway gives students a clear path through education from age 5 to 19. It has four stages: Cambridge Primary, Cambridge Lower Secondary, Cambridge Upper Secondary and Cambridge Advanced. Cambridge Pathway students have the chance to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to achieve at school, university and beyond.

Our school curriculum combines the compulsory subjects for preschool, primary and lower secondary school education, as established by the Tanzanian Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology and the Cambridge Assessment International Education program for qualifications.

I Could not have found a better place for my sons 'first' school experience. I am grateful and lucky for his wonderful teachers who not only made his transition easy from home to school but for us parents also, who has a hard time letting go. Kudos to all the hard work done by 'first years' for running a first class home feeling preschool!
